OUR HISTORY
Medienbüro am Reichstag and MAR COMMUNICATIONS look back on a long history of success as a competent partner in the fields of media, communication and strategic consulting. Since its founding, the company has continuously evolved and today stands for innovative solutions, well-founded expertise and close collaboration with renowned clients from business, politics and society.
2002
The PR agency Medienbüro am Reichstag GmbH was founded in Berlin in 2002, in close proximity to the Bundestag and Reichstag. The initiator and shareholder was Felix Zimmermann, who established the company as an owner-managed agency and continues to lead it to this day. The name "Medienbüro am Reichstag" is geographically motivated: the agency is located directly at the Bundespressekonferenz, within earshot of the Reichstag building — positioned not politically, but symbolically. In the same year in Berlin: - For the first time, a red-red senate governs Berlin — with Gregor Gysi as the first Senator for Economic Affairs - Move into the new Jakob-Kaiser-Haus, built next to the Reichstag at a cost of 580 million euros - The private rail company Connex launches long-distance services to Rostock, Leipzig and Gera - Reopening of the Berlin S-Bahn ring after 40 years; the new Lehrter Bahnhof (future Hauptbahnhof) is put into operation - Around 300,000 participants at the first Christopher Street Day — including an alternative CSD parade in Kreuzberg - Grand reunification celebration with prominent guests including Bill Clinton — featuring the ceremonial unveiling of the freshly restored Brandenburg Gate, which had been covered for weeks
2010
Since its founding, the agency has focused in particular on communication for the logistics, mobility, aviation and environmental economy sectors, with an emphasis on national and international communication. More and more employees and clients join the team.
2022
20 years of Medienbüro am Reichstag. The agency has long since become one of the leading PR agencies in Germany. Over time, new business areas emerged, such as the "Digital Solutions" team for digital clients and start-ups in logistics, and the MAR24 crisis centre with a focus on crisis communication.
2025
The brand "Medienbüro am Reichstag" becomes MAR COMMUNICATIONS under the management of Felix Zimmermann and Christian Liepack.
2025
Our crisis communication brand "MAR24" also gets a fresh look and becomes MAR CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS. With the new logo, we continue to rely on signal impact. The addition of "Crisis" in bright red captures exactly what counts in an emergency: clarity, orientation, decisiveness. The crisis centre continues to be led by our managing director Christian Liepack.
The Federal Press Conference Building is our home
The BPK is organised as a registered association. It is headquartered in Berlin with a branch office in Bonn. The BPK is financed through membership fees.
Membership is open only to those who report on federal politics for German media from Berlin or Bonn as their main profession. Currently around 900 parliamentary correspondents belong to the BPK. The most important body of the association is the general assembly. It elects the board. The eight board members take turns chairing the press conferences.
Fixed dates are the so-called government press conferences. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the government spokesperson as well as the spokespeople of the ministries attend to answer all questions on current political affairs. All press conferences are accessible only to members of the BPK and the Association of Foreign Press (VAP). Guests may be admitted in exceptional cases but have no right to ask questions.
The BPK is also the sole shareholder of Bundespresseball GmbH. It organises the annual Bundespresseball.
Fast. Flexible. Together.
With us, you don’t work on a sluggish oil tanker, but on a nimble speedboat. Our flat hierarchies enable fast decisions, direct communication and a high degree of co-determination. Every voice counts — because real teamwork emerges when everyone can help shape things. We rely on trust, responsibility and team spirit instead of endless internal coordination rounds. This keeps us flexible, efficient — and always one step ahead.
